The Challenge
Crestmoor at Green Hills is not a typical retirement community. From the outset, the goal was to position the property as luxury living first, with senior living considerations integrated seamlessly into the experience. The challenge was to create a signage and wayfinding system that felt refined and elevated while still delivering clarity and ease of navigation.
Traditional senior living signage often leans institutional or overly literal. Crestmoor wanted the opposite. Signage needed to feel intentional and expensive, supporting the architecture and interiors rather than standing apart from them. Every decision had to reinforce a sense of quality, discretion, and confidence.
Our Approach
We began with an on site visit to study how residents and visitors move through the space. Floor plans, measurements, and circulation patterns informed the overall system, but the design direction was driven by restraint and material sensitivity.
Typography, scale, and placement were carefully considered to feel calm and considered. Materials were selected to align with the luxury finishes already present throughout the property. The goal was signage that blends into the environment while still performing its job clearly and effortlessly.
The Result
The completed system supports navigation without drawing attention to itself. Wayfinding feels intuitive, while the signage contributes quietly to the overall sense of luxury throughout the community. Residents and visitors move confidently through the space, guided by design that feels natural rather than instructional.
Why It Matters
Luxury environments demand subtle problem solving. When signage is done well, it disappears into the experience while elevating it at the same time. This project is a strong example of how thoughtful wayfinding can reinforce brand perception and quality of life in senior living spaces.
